In a nut shell.... contracting mildly all day monday. refuse to believe that this is it as..well you know how the last 2 weeks have been.
put kids to bed, contractions stepped up a notch. Go for a bath at 8.45, decide this is worthy of a hosp visit, ring my mum. She arrives at 9.30, contractions every 3 mins, still standing and breathing through them, inbetween not convinced this is it still, get to del suite at 10pm, 3 contractions later I'm on gas and air and at 11.37pm he was born weighing in at 8lb9oz. Very sureal. Had v.nice German midwife. wasn't with her long enough to be very bothered about her. She did have the forsight and knowledge to advise me to get upright to push rather than laying down because of the way he was presenting so I'm grateful for that. She also asked if I wanted to go home that night, which I did and was home for 3.30am.
Thought it would be better for the girls to not even know mummmy was gone but in retrospect they needed the rite of passage of getting mummy from the hosp because they were really freaked out all day to suddenly have a baby in the house.
Crumbs. A knackering last month and an easy-peasy labour. Better than the other way around I suppose. I can understand the girls' bewilderment, actually. Must seem like someone beamed him down when they weren't looking.
I saw your site in my referrer log today so I stopped by for a visit...and to leave a quick note of apprecation. Thank you for noticing.
BTW, I would like to add some comment about liking your attitude or something to that effect (because I do), but I won't because I don't want it to sound lame or anything.
It's not lame to like my attitude - it's scary :| Get help... :P
