Um, finger knitting is basically the foundation stitch for crochet...so it's kind of useful later on iyswim.

*giggle* I wasn't thinking of taking it up Merry - its just simple enough for little hands to do ;-)

I think the Waldorf (bang bang) idea is that when the fingers are busy and doing useful things the brain is actually benefitting from this activity...

dunno...

hey Debs you checked Camie out yet? (perfect blue building)...link on my blog...she's into knitting too...if it's caught on in Michigan who knows where it'll all end??....could be the next big thing....Gary Lineker welcomes you to World Championship Knitting...representing the USA Camie against British Champion Debbie....

not takin' the p*ss honest...just my surreal thoughts on nights at 1a.m.

"Camie loses a point there for a dropped stitch....Debbie's knitting and pearling her way to the title here at the Albert Hall...and Camie's dropped her needle...it's all over"....'course us Brit's would win...there's got to be some sport we can beat Uncle Sam at.....

Its a home education thing. No Im crap at all things domesticated so Im sure the American would win. Unless you got points for how many holes you get in one line or how many times you want to ram the needles in your eyeballs and swear...

I like knitting (seriously)...not doin' it myself.....my Gran used to knit....a lot.... when I was a kid I'd fall asleep in the armchair next to her listening to the needles clicking....to this day if anyone knits near me I'm gone....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Brings back memories of my gran teaching me to finger knit when I was just a little girl.I used to snuggle on her lap and we'd sing nursery rhymes together- it was lovely. Thanks for that.
