I really miss Boss

... he's here but I have no time for him. Alhamdulillah he's been kept busy by parents when they were here and now DH, but I miss him all the same - we used to do *everything* together; funny how you miss the mundane stuff when it's gone. Oh well... I'm gritting my teeth and chanting the mantra "it won't be like this forever"...

Two weeks old today.

The intensity of the one on one relationship you get with your first doesn't seem to get duplicated with the second or third child (in my experience). I sometimes reflect on how close B and I were when she was a baby, especially when dh was working in Ireland and it was just us. But there is a lot of really lovely stuff that you get seeing them 2 interact and love each other.

This part does suck though, when Boss can't really connect with this little person who has so much potential to be a lot of fun. Actually, I think I only experienced what you're feeling when A was born. When S was born the girls already had each other and it was much easier.

This too shall pass...

Acknowledging this stuff is good for you, i think anyway. In a couple of weeks you can look back and see how normal it all feels now :)
